Summer Concerts in the Park Series Celebrates 20 Years in Sparta!
Chamber Announces Concert Performer Lineup for 2024.
Sparta, WI –The Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the lineup of entertainment for the 20th Year of Sparta’s Summer Concerts in the Park Series. These free Wednesday night concerts are held in the Kiwanis Bandshell at Evans-Bosshard Park each summer, this year beginning on May 29 and ending on August 28. All concerts are provided free to the public due to the generous sponsorship of local businesses, organizations and individuals. A free will donation is also collected at each performance.
This year’s lineup of performers for Sparta’s Summer Concerts in the Park is a mix of some new acts, returning favorites and popular regional groups, representing a wide variety of musical styles. This year’s series of free, Wednesday night concerts will include new-to-the-lineup acts such as K Sterling and the 85 Silver Band on July 10th, Bear Creek Band on July 24th, Adam Greuel & the Space Burritos on August 7th, and introducing Rafe Carlson, an up and coming country music singer on August 14th.
We welcome back to the start of our series the Sparta High School Jazz Band performing on May 29th. Returning favorites include Carlos Danger (June 5), Something Familiar (June 12), Copper Box (June 19th), Dirt River (July 3), Uncommon Denominator (July 17th), The Executives (July 31), and Shock Pocket on August 21st. TUGG returns with open arms on June 26th. We will finish up our series with Pat Watters Band during our Military Appreciation Night and shout out to the Sparta Area School District on August 28th.
The Chamber is excited for the return of our not-for-profit concessionaires that will include the Miss Sparta Pageant Royalty, Masonic Lodge, Kiwanis, Church of Birch, Sparta Youth Baseball Association, Friends of the Elroy-Sparta State Trail with Friends of the La Crosse River State Trail, the VFW Auxiliary 2112, the Lions Club, the Deke Slayton Museum, and the Five Shovelmen. These groups will be utilizing the newly constructed concession stand which will provide a clean environment that is more appropriate for serving food. We are bringing in some of your favorite food trucks that include Schindoggies, Chow Haul, Dave’s Pizza, and the new Franklin Coffee Truck. The Chamber will be on hand as well with beverages being served by the Beer Shop Crew. Sales from these purchases go directly back to the Chamber to help offset performer costs. A huge shout out to those that have sponsored this year’s series and to those individuals that continually donate week after week. THANK YOU!

Concerts run from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Concert goers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Concerts may be moved to the Sparta American Legion due to rain, and notice is provided by 1:00 PM on the day of the event if weather is threatening.
